Cuomo Endorses Spencer for Legislature

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo endorsed Suffolk County Legislator William "Doc" Spencer for re-election, citing his commitment to protecting Suffolk County taxpayers.

"Today I am proud to endorse Dr. William Spencer for County Legislator," said Governor Cuomo. "Long Islanders need leaders in Suffolk County who will keep spending under control, balance budgets and protect taxpayers. William Spencer represents exactly that type of leadership and he is the type of partner I need on the local level to keep moving Suffolk and Long Island forward."

"Governor Cuomo has worked across party lines to protect New York taxpayers and create jobs," Spencer said. "I share those values and have worked hard in the Legislature to put Suffolk County taxpayers first."

Legislator Spencer has made the tough choices to make Suffolk County government more efficient, which saves Suffolk taxpayers $100 million per year in reduced costs and allows the county to stay under the tax cap.

As a doctor, Legislator Spencer has worked hard to protect the health of Suffolk County kids, improving health education programs and supporting anti-gang initiatives.
